About Me

Return Home

I recently moved to Mount Pleasant, Michigan August of 2007, after practicing for several years in Illinois.  I received my B.S. in 1999 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  I then received my J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2002.  I am admitted to practice in Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota, and am also admitted to the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, Eastern District of Michigan and Western District of Michigan (Federal).

I have experience working with both consumer and agricultural bankruptcies on both the debtor and creditor sides which provides me with expertise in the field that other bankruptcy attorneys may not have.  I am dedicated to helping people resolve any issues they may have with their credit in the manner that best suits them and want to make sure debtors receive the protection they deserve from predatory debt collection practices.  I have recently joined the Kerr Law Firm, PLLC here in Mount Pleasant, and as a result, I also am dedicated to helping people with their estate planning needs.

I am a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, American Bar Association, including the Young Lawyers Division and the General Practice Solo Small Firm Division, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Minnesota State bar Association, the Isabella County Bar Association, and the State Bar of Michigan.

While Bankruptcy and Estate Planning are my primary fields, I have extensive experience dealing with both the Plaintiff and Defendant sides of Collections, Landlord/Tenant, and Foreclosure cases.  I also will review and draft leases, advise about and draft documents for business organization formation.

In addition to work, I serve as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for the Friends of the Broadway, the non profit organization that manages the Broadway Theatre.
